The Molly Maguires: 50th Anniversary and Benefit

Thursday, April 19th

Eckley Miners’ Village will host an exciting benefit evening featuring a reception and Molly Maguires movie screening at the historic Mauch Chunk Opera House in Jim Thorpe. Celebrating 50 years since the filming of the movie at Eckley and Jim Thorpe, the evening will kick off with a festive reception with light hors d’oeurves, cash bar, and movie fun followed by the screening of the film in the historic theater. All funds raised during the event will support on-going programming and education efforts at Eckley Miners’ Village. The reception and activities will start at 6pm and the film will start at 7:30pm.

Patch Town Days: the 50th Anniversary of the Molly Maguires

Saturday and Sunday, June 23rd & 24th

This festival will host rugby matches, a Sean Connery mustache contest, village scavenger hunt, Fact or Fiction Trivia game, breaker boy challenge, cooking demonstrations, live animals, reenactments and skits throughout village, Molly Maguire props and memorabilia on display, music, food and more! There will also be a “Join the Strike” Parade at 3:30 pm on Saturday. Come celebrate the making of the iconic film! This event begins at 10:00 am and most of the festivities end at 5:00.

Saturday, June 23rd

Eckley Miners’ Village will host Mark Noon for a brief presentation about the making of The Molly Maguires and how it affected the area followed by a showing of the film. Doors open at 6pm.

1940’s Weekend

August 4th & 5th

Come celebrate the history of the homefront during World War II. We will have live music, children’s activities, food and craft vendors, swing dance lessons, military re-enactors, weapons demonstrations, and more! This event begins at 10:00 am and most of the festivities end at 5:00.

Swing Dance

Saturday, August 4th

Join us in the Freeland Park Pavilion for our annual Swing Dance! There will be a concession stand with food and drinks. This event begins at 6pm and ends at 9pm. Tickets are $10 per person or $8 for persons in costume.


NEW! Back to School at Eckley

Saturday, August 25

Come explore Eckley Miners’ Village and learn all about the town’s history and culture. For our regular admission fee, you can watch our introductory film, explore the museum, stop in each building to listen to the tour, and take part in several activities throughout the village  such as scavenger hunts, “coal mining,” arts and crafts, butter-making, and even play 19th century games! This program starts at 10am and ends at 4pm.

Adults: $8 Seniors: $7 Children: $6


Haunted Halloween Lantern Tours October 19th & 20th, 26th & 27th

Beware! Creatures lurk in the darkened streets of Eckley. This hour long walk is full of scary stories and things that go bump in the night. Bring your own flashlight or purchase one in the gift shop.
Doors open at 6:00 pm and the last tour leaves at 9:00 pm. Tours are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Christmas at Eckley                                         December 1st & 2nd

Christmas at Eckley has something for everyone! From Carolers to cocoa, crafts to St. Nick, you are sure to find something delightful in this old-fashioned Christmas celebration.

Admission is $7 per person.
