Charter Day is the celebration of the founding of Pennsylvania. To commemorate this occasion, Eckley Miners’ Village Museum will be open to the public free of charge. Visitors can see the museum as well as art by NEPA’s very own Tom Hartz, listen to a presentation by the authors of Down the Dog Hole: 11 Poets on Northeastern Pennsylvania, and take a tour through a 19th century coal mining town. Authors of Down the Dog Hole: 11 Poets on Northeastern Pennsylvania as well as artist of Nature’s Images, Tom Hartz, will be on site to speak to visitors. The gift shop will be open from 12:00 pm- 4:30 pm.
Patch Town Days: Italian Fest
Saturday and Sunday, June 22nd & 23rd
Come experience life in an 1800’s coal patch town. This year’s festival will celebrate the heritage and contributions of the Italian families that made Eckley their home. Join us for live music, dance performances, historic demonstrations, Bocce Ball, and village tours. Entertainment includes the Keystone Ballet Academy performing the Tarantella, Danny Farole on the accordion, speaker Stephanie Longo and much more. This event begins at 10:00 am and most of the festivities end at 5:00 pm.

Eckley Car & Bike Show
Saturday, July 13th (Rain Date July 14)
Eckley’s summer car and bike show is fun for the whole family. Enjoy vehicles of years past, ice cream, live music, a 50/50 raffle, People’s Choice contest, and much more. If you are interested in having a car or bike in the show, please complete the Vehicle Registration Form. The event begins at noon and festivities end at 5pm.

NEW!! Time Warp – From Civil War to WWII
August 3rd & 4th
Come celebrate the history and evolution of war and the homefront. In this mixed era event, one can hear the coal mining tunes of the 19th century and the big band music of the 40’s, talk to reenactors and learn to swing dance. We will have live music, children’s activities, historic craft demonstrations, food and craft vendors, swing dance lessons, military re-enactors from the Civil War to WWII, weapons demonstrations, and more! This event begins at 10:00 am and most of the festivities end at 5:00.

Saturday, August 3th
Join us in the Freeland Park Pavilion for our annual Swing Dance! There will be a concession stand with food and drinks. This event begins at 6pm and ends at 9pm. Tickets are $10 per person or $8 for persons in costume.
Back to School at Eckley
Saturday, August 24
Come explore Eckley Miners’ Village and learn all about the town’s history and culture. For our regular admission fee, you can watch our introductory film, explore the museum, stop in each building to listen to the tour, and take part in several activities throughout the village such as scavenger hunts, “coal mining,” arts and crafts, butter-making, and even play 19th century games! This program starts at 10am and ends at 4pm.

Haunted Halloween Lantern Tours October 18th & 19th, 25th & 26th
Beware! Creatures lurk in the darkened streets of Eckley. This hour long walk is full of scary stories and things that go bump in the night. Bring your own flashlight or purchase one in the gift shop.
Doors open at 6:00 pm and the last tour leaves at 9:00 pm. Tours are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Eckley Christmas Experience
December 7th & 8th
Christmas at Eckley has something for everyone! From Carolers to cocoa, crafts to St. Nick, you are sure to find something delightful in this old-fashioned Christmas celebration. The festivities began at 12pm and end by 4pm.
